Insights from the Full Day Meeting of PERMANENS in Barcelona

The PERMANENS team gathered in Barcelona for a full day of productive discussions, where we addressed several key aspects that will shape the next stages of the project.

The team focused on refining the predictive models for self-harm and reviewed existing evidence-based clinical guidelines to explore how they can inform the development of more effective interventions for self-harm prevention.

In addition, perspectives from professionals and individuals with lived experience were explored regarding the management of self-harm in emergency departments. These insights, gathered through a mixed-methods approach, provided valuable feedback on the real-world challenges and needs faced by both clinicians and patients.

Progress was also made in defining the structure of the Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS), based on findings from various work packages, ensuring it will be both evidence-based and clinically useful. Discussions also began around small-scale testing, which will serve as a key milestone in advancing the project.
